The Theodolite was made by Gadget. It looks like and was used as a normal theodolite. In the episode "An Elephant Never Suspects" (#18) Gadget used the Theodolite to measure the of angle of inclination of a heap of peanuts. The Theodolite is placed on a wooden tripod. It includes an optical system (a spy-glass with a measuring graticule) and azimuth circles.
